How Old Is Your Server?
Many offices are using
servers between 6 and 16 years old. Your hard drive has been spinning at several thousand RPM
24/7 for many years. Bearings and surfaces wear out. It's critical that these systems are
replaced, or at least serviced. Vacuum dust from all openings. Remove the cover,
replace any bad fans.
Look for bad capacitors, tiny can shaped
components on the motherboard. If these capacitors are bulging or leaking, your
days are numbered. Do a Google image search for "bad capacitors" to see
what you are looking for. Jaydee can help you replace your system. Depending on the operating system
version, you may be able to purchase a new compatible computer. In some cases an
OS upgrade and license will be required. We can now setup SCO OpenServer to run on a Virtual Machine with VMWARE. This
will allow your SCO UNIX to run on a Windows server. Existing licenses can
usually be transferred. In some cases we can provide a refurbished SCO
compatible computer with a new power supply and hard drive.
